To participate in the Unfinished Chapters anthology competition, you must be 18 years or older. Although your home address can be anywhere in the world, you must have a verified PayPal account in order to submit your contest fee and – if you’re one of the top three writers – to receive your prize money in the amount of $200, $100 or $75 USD.
All entries must be written in English, written in first-person*, thoroughly proofread for spelling/grammar/punctuation, and submitted as a Word document to firstname.lastname@example.org. We request that entries be submitted in Garamond 11 pt, single-spaced and with a 5 space paragraph indent. We allow only one entry per author. Essays must be a minimum of 1,200 words and a maximum of 2,000 words. (No exceptions!) While the content can be humorous, serious, nostalgic or wistfully introspective, we discourage any entries that purposely vent, kvetch, ridicule, slander or lambaste the character of others. It’s acceptable to us if you use first names only or, if you prefer, put names in quotes to indicate they have been changed to respect privacy. (*This should be your story, not a third-person fictional narrative.)
Each essay should be accompanied by a $5 (USD) entry fee.
Contest deadline is July 1, 2015 and authors selected for inclusion will be notified by September 1, 2015.
If you would like to enter, the next step is to submit an email to the editor at email@example.com with the subject line: “I Have An Unfinished Chapter.”
The body of your email should contain the following:

We look forward to reading your work!
